Me and this Blog

My name is Phillipe Cantin. I'm a Lean-Agile coach, an ex-developer and a citizen scientist with a passion for the subjects of software development estimation, decision making and metrics. With work and luck I hope to make the software development field a better place.

I have been working in software development since 1996, applies Scrum since 2005,  invented the CrumbScale Agile estimation method in 2007, started coaching in 2014, and wrote the book Rally-Point Backlog in 2017. As I was writing this book, I started studying software effort estimation with the initial intent to better characterize CrumbScale. But this investigation path got me deeply interested in understanding the dynamics of estimation, prediction, predictability, and decision making in the context of software development.

I started this blog to share my views, my work, and my findings on those subjects and any related Lean-Agile subjects.

Please interact through the comments and share these discussions around.
